Abstract:IIn this paper, a digital pulse compression filter design method based on SOCP( second order cone programming) is proposed to control the high side-lobe level in LFM signal pulse com- pression. The design of pulse compression filter is converted to a second-order cone programming problem, with a specific main-lobe shape being selected as expected and sidelobe level being con- troled. Compared to those methods in literature, this method obtains a flexible compromise betwe- en PSL(peak-side lobe level), main-lobe width, the loss in process gain. Simulation results suggest that the method proposed takes an advantage of side-lobe control over conventional window meth- ods, the PSL is 44dB yet the unitary Doppler is 0.005,and pulse compression signal’s phase is con- herent with reference reponse, they meet the requiremens of modern radar systems.
